The end of the year can be madness trying to finish up your end of the year testing and get your room packed up. But it's also the time of year when I bust out some readers theater. My kiddos LOVE it when we do this and love it even more if we can perform for other classes. Our district uses the Journey's series for reading. Last year I turned one of our stories out of the book into a readers theater. You can grab your copy here. In a pinch the "You read to me, I'll read to you" books work great too!
What readers theater activities do you do?

I love readers theater, too. I let my students make popsicle puppets and act out the part for other classes. They love it! Even the shy ones will come out of their shell because they are behind the puppet stage.

I love Reader's Theater at this time of year! We usually practice our plays in the morning and share them under a tree in our yard in the afternoon :)
ReplyDeleteI'm also having a linky party so if you have any ideas that you would like to share for end-of-year celebrations, I'd love it if you can hop on over and link up ;)

I LOVE to do Reader's Theater....Sadly I feel like there is never enough time for it! I did it once this year...but I hope to incorporate it even more next year. They LOVED it!
