I'm linking up with Blog Hoppin' to tell y'all a little about myself! I've already spent loads of time reading about my bloggy friends!
We are supposed to share a few things about ourselves that you may not already know.
1.) I'm married to a super duper patient and hilarious husband. Dave and I have been married for two years!
2. It takes a special kind of person to be married to a teacher. My husband totally "gets" my addiction to office supplies and gets a kick out of me getting giddy over erasable gel pens and a giant pack of Post-Its.
3. We have a kitty named Rowdy. She is a rescue cat and she is high maintenance. We don't have any kids yet so she is our spoiled rotten baby. Can you tell she has a hard life?
4. I have taught 3rd and 4th grade, but first grade is where I'm meant to be. This will be my fifth year teaching first grade!
5. I love TV. LOVE TV. After spending all day with children I want to hear grown-ups talk. Especially if they are super fine vampires like Eric on True Blood. Vampire Diaries is my favorite show and no matter what my husband tells you he really likes it too. We also like The Big Bang Theory and reruns of Scrubs. Both of those shows make us laugh out loud.
6. I loathe spiders. They are all out to get me. Seriously.
7. Seattle is my happy place! At some point we will move to Seattle permanently. We just got back from our two week vacation in Seattle. I miss the smell of the trees and I miss being on the water. My husband has a sailboat and we get out on the water whenever we have good weather while we are in Seattle.
8. I have started running. I'm not especially good at it, but I'm working on it. I saw a shirt that said "Run like there is bacon at the finish line" and I think I may need it....And some bacon.
9. I love big purses- they hold everything I need and then a little bit more.
10. A few random facts: I never ever leave the house without mascara, I love to buy jeans, if I'm not wearing earrings then I feel naked, and every Monday I buy a hazelnut latte on my way to school just to get the week started off on the right foot!
I can't wait to keep reading what all you bloggers have written about yourselves!
I loved reading more about you. I think that is a great idea to get a latte on Monday. (Hazelnut is my latte flavor of choice too.) Big Bang Theory is one of my favorite shows. It is great comic relief after a stressful day. Enjoy the rest of your day.

I LOVE the wave crashing behind you in the wedding picture, I LOVE that you rescued Rowdy, and I LOVE Big Bang Theory, too. Thanks for the sneak peek into your world!

Barbara- I love you!
DeleteHazelnut lattes are the best! I may have to pick up on your little "ritual" this year! I went to Seattle for the first time this summer and thought it was beautiful...much better than Texas weather!

For the Love of First Grade
Love the idea of starting the week off right, I do believe I might throw this into my routine! I also am glad that there are others out there with hubbies that love our obsession with office supplies. Mine always knows where to find me if we wonder from each other at Wal-Mart or other stores!

Math Madness
Hi! I found your blog through Blog Hoppin’ Teacher Week! The summer went too fast and I cannot believe it is that time of year again!
ReplyDeleteI started running a year ago and I am working my way to a 10K...I have done a couple of 5K's and have worked my way up to five miles once in a while. We'll see! I am not really good at it either! :o)
Check out my Monday: Let’s Talk About the Teacher blog post!

If You Give a Teacher a Treat
I started Vampire Diaries about 2 weeks ago on Netflix. I have plowed through them and finished up S3 last night. I was super sad I couldn't find S4 online. :(
ReplyDeleteLuckily I still have True Blood.

You Might Be a First Grader...
Loved reading all these tidbits!!! And I love TV, too!! :)
ReplyDeletePS Your new blog design is GORGEOUS!
Why thank you girlfriend!
DeleteDefinitely need coffee to start the week off right, and I laughed about needing to hear adult voices at the end of the first grade day! So true!
ReplyDeleteLindsey at Forever First Grade
I feel the same way about my earrings! I have to have some on all the time which pretty much means I wear studs all the time! :) Loved learning a little more about you!

Flying High in First Grade
It was nice learning more about you! I always buy a frozen mocha or chai tea latte from Panera Bread on Fridays! It is my reward for making it through the week!
ReplyDeleteUm, yes to the TV! I wrote about The Real Housewives in my post!! And my husband is the same way, he says he hates those shows, but he still knows all of their names and all of the drama that goes on!! (He would die if anyone knew that!) We love the northwest, too! My brother in law lives in Portland and it's so pretty up there (and so different from Texas). Have you ever seen a concert at The Gorge in George, Washington? It's GORGEOUS, literally! :)
ReplyDeleteThis linky is so fun!

KTP: Keep Teaching and Planning
I wish I could just limit myself to lattes on Mondays! I have never tried a hazelnut latte, but it sounds delish!
